Strength beyond our abilities – Grace

Did you ever have one of those weeks where you can’t believe how much you’ve accomplished and knew that there was more than just you?  It has been one of those kind of weeks.

About 18 months ago I was introduced to the concept of a God Jar.   The concept is that you turn over to a power outside yourself those things that are beyond your ability to solve.

Two weeks ago, in frustration I threw the insurance company problem into the jar.  With a prayer in my heart and a bit triumphantly,  I said look out we’ll see what God can do.  Ha!  A short time later that week the address was fixed.  I shared the wonder with a friend that was struggling with some pretty serious challenges.  Her thoughts were to go home and write down everything that was bothering her and put that in her jar.  The question arose in my mind, did you turn over all the things that have been filling your mind?  The answer was no of course.  Too many times, I’m pretty sure that I can fix it without help. Ha!

When I got home, I made a list of all the things that have been challenging me of late and all of them went into the jar.  Gratitude fills my heart this week for answers to more than one of those challenges.   What a wonderful blessing, answers to prayers.

The very long to do list for this week was finished and it was strength beyond my own that helped to accomplish it.  What a beautiful word, Grace.
