Boundless energy! Now give me a darn Twinkie phase.

This is the phase of Whole 30 I’m in now.  Found this timeline on the Whole 30 website, sure wish I found that before psycho day 4.  Woke up and felt okay at least better than the previous day then it happened, ANGER.  Not normal for me to be so incredibly angry let’s just say the rest of the day was spent in my room sobbing for no reason.  Thought I was going crazy well at least more so than normal.  It is good to know that other people experience this and I’m not alone.  Next time I’ll be prepared for no appointments or responsibilities for the day.

So on to the Boundless energy part.  Headaches have mostly disappeared, thank goodness.  This all came at the right time too.  This week is our catch up week before our first unit celebration of the year.  There wasn’t much catch up work as the kids stayed on top of it.  They did need to finish up skits, menu and their displays.

Monday – Started to clean out the cabinets of really unhealthy foods.  Not too much but there were a few things.  Worked on the blog, cleaned out the hot tub and refilled it for the next season.  Drove to truckee for the meat slicer.  Can’t remember what else.

Tuesday – worked on the refrigerator.  Took all the condiments out to figure out which ones had wheat, sugar, or unapproved ingredients.  Surprisingly the mustard and mayo was good.

Wednesday – shopping day, chiropractor, library, making a yam and beef stew, cutting up the meat for jerky and stocking our freezer.  Made meatballs, meatloaf, and jerky.  The girls helped out and it was a fun day.  Halloween and trick-o-treat.

Thursday – worked on backed up paperwork ie reports that the kids handed in, loaded e-book readers with assignments for next weeks new unit, walked the dogs, took Ginny to Ballet, worked on scripture study, reading a new book, any way productive.

Friday – exercise, made sausage scramble for breakfast, groom two very hairy Cocker Spaniels (Lilly and Vader) over 2 hours, walked the dogs 1.5 miles, cleaned up some of the mess (bekah took care of the majority), cleaned the kitchen while dad vacuumed the floors, finished all the dishes from our dehydrating adventure, emptied the dishwasher, reloaded it and got lunch ready.  Now baking is mustard glazed chicken thighs from Practical Paleo newest book – LOVE IT.

For the other part of this phase – darn Twinkie.  I haven’t had one of those in years and don’t plan to start now – YUCK.  That is not to say that there haven’t been visions of other temptations coming along.  For the most part it hasn’t been a problem.  I’ve felt real hunger this week but no cravings for which I’m grateful.  The first couple days I just increased protein and had herbal tea if it didn’t go away.  If I still had my snack left then ate a piece of jerky which helped tremendously with the hunger.  Herbal tea is helping to make it through the rest.

Stay tuned for pictures of our Unit Celebration.  Have an awesome day!
